WHAT IS SCAR CAMOUFLAGE?
Scar camouflage is the act of gently microneedling the skin while placing pigment into the scarred area to match the surrounding color. This technique can be used to "blend" the area such as breast scars, areola scars from traumatic breast surgery, brow scars which can cause hair loss, lip scars, and camouflaging vitiligo.
At this time, the actual scar can not be camouflaged if it is DARKER than the surrounding skin. In other words, we can camouflage from light to dark but not the other way around.
However, technology and advances are ever evolving with permanent makeup, and one day we hope to be able to change that! All scars must be at least 18 months old to be treated. ALL of our permanent makeup services use the most gentle microshading process which has excellent retention, soft & natural results, a comfortable experience, and will gently fade within 1-3 years.
ANY PMU SERVICE MUST BE DELAYED IF YOU:
Have recently received Botox or Dysport injections within 24 hours of your appointment.
Have used Retin A, Glycolic Acid, or Vitamin C Serums. Chemical peels, lasers, IPL, or any type of medical grade skin treatment. Within 2-3 weeks of your appointment.
Have been tanning within 2-3 weeks of your appointment.
Have taken full doses of Accutane. You must wait 1 year before receiving PMU. (Note: with medical clearance and a doctor's note you may be able to receive PMU if you are taking a half dose or prophylactic dose of Accutane)
BEFORE YOUR PERMANENT LIP BLUSH
ADDITIONAL WAITING PERIODS ARE REQUIRED IF YOU:
Have EVER had a Fever Blister (aka Cold Sore) YOU MUST speak to your doctor, bring a doctor's note to your appointment and pre-medicate with Valtrex or Acyclovir prescribed by your doctor before your appointment. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Have received filler (i.e. Juvaderm, Silk, Voluma, Sculptra, Restylane, Perlane, etc). Required waiting period: 4-5 weeks.
Have received lip augmention through fat transfer, implants, or tissue grafting. Required waiting period: 1 month.
BEFORE YOUR PERMANENT LIP BLUSH
ADDITIONAL WAITING PERIODS ARE REQUIRED IF YOU:
Have received Lasik or Cataract Surgery. Required waiting period: 1 month prior and 3 months post-op.
Have used Latisse or any other eyelash boosting products. Required waiting period: 4 weeks.
Have received Lash Extensions. They must be removed prior to the your appointment and you must wait until all PMU is completely healed before resuming use.
Wear contacts. They must be removed prior to receiving your permanent eyeliner service, and you must wait 24 hours before resuming use. Prepare to wear glasses while leaving your appointment.
BEFORE YOUR AREOLA SERVICE OR SCAR CAMOUFLAGE
ADDITIONAL WAITING PERIODS ARE REQUIRED IF YOU:
Are less than 6 months post operation. Must be cleared by your surgeon after reconstruction (Areola Tattoo).
Scar must be 18 months old & lighter than the surrounding skin in order to be camouflaged. (Scar Camouflage).
