It's time to talk about the hottest beauty trend of the moment: permanent makeup and eyelash extensions. You've probably heard about both - they're all the rage, and everyone seems to be getting these things done. But are they right for you?

You may hear us mention a "Lash Enhancement" here at Outliner Studio- This refers to a Permanent Makeup service where we permanently place color into the skin between the lashes.  This is painless and gentle service that lasts YEARS- The downtime is minimal and the maintenance is none through this permanent makeup technique! Every few years you will need to come in for a touch up appointment to boost the color and then you are good. to. go. for a few more years!  However, a Permanent Makeup Lash Enhancement  does NOT physically make your lashes thicker or fuller or longer.  It only creates the illusion of thickness.

Now, this is the beauty of LASH EXTENSIONS or "Eyelash Extensions".

Lash extensions make your lashes appear longer, fuller, and more dramatic in just a couple of hours. And let's be real - who doesn't want long, fluttery lashes that make you feel like a total goddess?

But here's the thing: eyelash extensions require a bit of maintenance. If you're someone who's always on the go and doesn't have time to spare for touch-ups, then maybe this isn't the best option for you. Extensions need to be properly cared for, and if you don't have the time to do that, your beautiful new lashes might end up looking a little less than salon-worthy. Typically refills for lash extensions are every 2-3 weeks.

Why do you have to fill them in so often?  ALL of your lashes regenerate every 28 days. That's right- you get brand new lashes every 28 days.  You lose 5-10 lashes per day naturally throughout your lash growth life and cycle.  Your lashes grow at different cycles and grow at different rates and therefore as your lashes naturally shed with the lash extension- this is why they must be replaced with new beautiful lash extensions every few weeks.

If you're someone who's willing to put in the time, effort, and maintenance, then eyelash extensions might be just what you need to take your beauty game to the next level. They're perfect for special occasions, photoshoots, or just everyday glam.  They are STUNNING and can provide a natural and beautiful look without having to have the fuss of mascara.

But if you're looking for a quick and easy way to enhance your naturally beautiful lashes, then this might be the perfect option for you.  Many of our clients love a Permanent Eyeliner which is Permanent Makeup and then adding Lash Extensions.  This is a STUNNING look. 

A few things to know.  Make sure your Lashista applies the appropriate length to your natural lash.  Using too long or thick of a lash extension is not healthy for your natural lashes.  Next,  Lashes should be applied 1-2mm of the natural lash only. Last, make sure to use a qualified and licensed professional.  There is no requirement of regulation for lash extensions which makes them accessible- but not regulated. In other words, don't cheap out on those beautiful lashes.
